Hanging out in Orion’s Belt, The Horsehead Nebula is one of the most recognized images of the night sky. This nebula’s obvious name comes from the distinct dark shape in the cloud of dust and gas. To the left of the image you will also see the Flame Nebula…again obviously named. In the winter time, the three stars of Orion’s Belt are distinct in the southern sky (for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere). The most eastern star of those three is Alnitak, and that can be seen in this image just above the Flame Nebula.

This image is printed on Ilford Gold Mono Silk fine art paper. If displayed in a dry environment free of direct sunlight, it will maintain its color for generations. This particular paper is an excellent match displaying the deep black of space and the vibrant details of the nebula. The print is sized 8x10 and comes with an approximately half inch border for ease of handling. It displays best in a simple black frame with white mat.
