This is the beautiful Pinwheel Galaxy located in the Ursa Major Constellation…perhaps better known as the Big Dipper. This galaxy is 21 million light years away from us and is believed to be 70% larger than our own Milky Way Galaxy! The distinctive spiral arms are composed of gas and dust and fan out away from the galactic core in a distinct pinwheel shape. The red/violet areas seen in these arms are nebula within that galaxy where stars form!

This image is printed on Ilford Gold Mono Silk fine art paper. If displayed in a dry environment free of direct sunlight, it will maintain its color for generations. This particular paper is an excellent match displaying the deep black of space and the vibrant colors of the galaxy. The print is sized 8x10 and comes with an approximately half inch border for ease of handling. It displays best in a simple black frame with white mat.
